FIRECOAT is owned and operated by Flame Security International (FSI), an innovative and proactive research and development organisation dedicated to developing highly innovative products and services that solve major problems. With origins in Sweden, FSI was established in Australia in 2018. The Australian company is based in Sydney.

Confronted by the scale of bushfire disasters across Australia in recent decades, FSI partnered with leading scientists at UNSW Sydney to revolutionise fire protection innovation. More than 5 years of research and development have led to a game-changing polymer technology that has unlocked world-first standards in fire protection.

FIRECOAT was born to make this unprecedented level of defence against the fire loss and damage accessible to home and property owners across Australia and around the world.

FIRECOAT team at UNSW Sydney

Proven

All FIRECOAT products are tested in the most extreme conditions, both in the laboratory and in real-world scenarios. This rigorous process ensures our products deliver a higher level of protection than any other product available.

Uniquely, FIRECOAT Exterior undercoat has a BAL-40 rating, and our interior products meet numerous high standards and certifications. All our products have been tested by independent authorities and comply with all relevant standards.

Innovative

Our world-first polymer technology offers an effective, affordable, accessible solution for the escalating risk of fire. And because FIRECOAT products are easy to find and easy to apply, more homes and structures can be protected by these breakthrough technology solutions.

Environmentally friendly

No FIRECOAT product contains halogenated flame retardants, otherwise known as ‘forever chemicals’.

Using FIRECOAT to protect homes and buildings has other environmental benefits. Less damage and destruction in a fire scenario means less waste and consumption of materials in repairing and replacing the burnt structures. And by preventing fires from taking hold, FIRECOAT reduces toxic fume emissions, too.
